THE product!

So being consistent with the last post, I will try and explain in this one what product I have chosen and WHY exactly have I chosen it for this particular study. Getting straight to the point,

A Mc'Donalds Combo Meal.

So for clarification, it is a "combo meal"-not a burger, not a beverage and not a single serving of fries. So this is a package that comes together and is most of the times preferred over a single one of either of these. So when I decided to select this product, I was thinking of a possibility of combinations over multiple types of products in a single package-in anticipation of concepts which might require relatively complex combinations of product types and maybe multiple levels of variety only to be able to explain better.

Apart from this, a product the everyday person (who might possible end up reading this blog given the global internet penetration..) is well aware of could be a good example to demonstrate the essence of the marketing discussions (is what I think!).

Also, multiple considerations by a common fast-food consumer before going for a combo meal like:

1. Quick meal requirement
2. Meal on the run
3. Value for money proposition for most target groups
4. Extra value in form of tangible collectibles (toys, gifts etc.)
5. Quick comfort food with decent seating
6. Good offers for home delivery

would make an interesting study in the given context.

Given the reason, I would like to end on a relatively light note by confirming that a Mc'Donalds combo meal is not necessarily a personal favorite. But considering the purpose it is being used for, I thought it would be a very decent product for both, the blogger and the reader. So with the introductions out of the way, I next intend to delve into the details of concepts discussed as a part of the Marketing study. And now that the diary is being updated regularly, literally and metaphorically-"I am lovin it!".

Ameya Sawadkar blogging off until the next post!
